DescriptionThe Purchasing Manager, Manufacturing, will support a manufacturing and materials organization for a $3B Division. This company has acquired over 10 new products and added 15 new R&D projects within the past two years! With a full pipeline, they are poised for success and growth! As the Purchasing Manager, you will oversee:

sourcing, purchasing, planning, along with scheduling the movement of materials, parts, & services required to support business units and multiple plant needs.

Utilize Lean & Six Sigma tools while you work in and promote a team environment within purchasing and cross functional Continuous Improvement teams. This includes assuring that all strategic sourcing initiatives are a part of the departments on-going plan for cost reduction and continuous improvement and review and management of the progress of cost reduction projects.

Assure all GMPs and SOPs are adhered to in the specific department of responsibility

Reporting of Metrics against established goals, High Lights and Low Lights for the period.

Develops and Maintains good working relationships with the approved supplier list

Works with and coordinates with Materials Manager and Commodity Managers in sourcing and negotiations of materials and new sources to meet company objectives.

Develops and trains Staff including a buyer/planner and production supervisor to be eligible for the next level



Requirements

To be successful in this role you need:

B.S Degree in Business or other 4-year degree with 5+ years in a manufacturing environment with managerial responsibility for a minimum of 3 years over purchasing

Desired skills include: APIC Certification Preferred , SAP and BPCS knowledge a plus.

Proven cost reduction history Medical Products Experience a plus Knowledge of Supply Chain concepts as it relates to manufacturing Understanding of market trends and how shifts in commodity markets or demographics may affect the business. Strong negotiator Detailed and Systems oriented Contract development Excellent project management skills Team building, interpersonal skills Supervision of buyers, planners or commodity managers in the past. Must be willing to travel
