Position Overview
Reporting to the President, the Vice President of Finance & Accounting (CFO) will be an integral part of the company's executive leadership team, and will oversee all Finance, Accounting and Information Technology through two direct reports, a Controller with a staff of 10, and an Information Technology Manager with a staff of 5.   

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
  • As part of the executive leadership team, function in a strategic advisory capacity to the President and other department heads.
  • Oversee all Finance & Accounting activities, including general and cost accounting, treasury, financial planning and analysis, budgeting, payroll, and accounts payable. 
  • Oversee Information Technology as a strategic asset of the company.
  • Analyze business trends and company performance, providing forecasts that identify potential financial challenges and/or opportunities.
  • Lead the development and execution of short and long range strategic business plans, as well as the annual budgeting process.
  • Other duties as assigned
Education, Skills & Work Experience
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting is REQUIRED.  MBA and/or CPA preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years financial management experience, with at least 5 years in a similar financial management leadership capacity in a medium to large sized company.
  • Experience in manufacturing and the metals industry, with strong knowledge and understanding of the metals commodity market, hedging, futures contracts, and how price movements impact business profitability.
  • Strong knowledge of General and Cost Accounting, as well as Treasury operations, including dealing with foreign banks, and managing cash flow and working capital.
  • Experience with asset based borrowing and negotiating credit agreements. 
  • Experience developing strategic business plans.
  • Well versed in systems and Information Technology, especially ERP.
  • Labor contract, and major-customer contract negotiation experience required.
  • Knowledgeable and experienced at ensuring proper internal controls are in place.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with an ability to plan and delegate work effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate effectively, and develop effective working relationships at all levels.
