The Production Supervisor provides first-line supervision of hourly employees at this carton Manufacturer to facilitate efficient and effective production of cartons and other related materials.  Also, he/she acts as back-up for the Division Manager.
Supervises employees to meet the requirements of production schedule while ensuring quality, safety and productivity of operation. 
  • Ensures that practices are consistent with the in-effect union contract.
  • Resolves employee relations issues, consulting with the Division Manager or other parent company resources when necessary. 
  • Oversees and/or reports on:
    • Daily and month end inventory
    • Daily Key Performance Indicator entry
    • Integrated Pest Management
    • Preventative maintenance record keeping
    • Sanitation/ housekeeping (inside and outside services)
    • Food safety and employee safety issues
    • Lock out Tag out
 Assists Division Manager with:
    • The maintenance of properties, buildings, machinery, equipment and instrumentation related to manufacturing operations.
    • Administrative functions required for effectively operations. 
    • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
 Monitors incoming material and outgoing finished product shipments to ensure accuracy and a high degree of quality. 

This position directly supervises the activities of all hourly personnel.
The performance of this position is critical to the effective and efficient day-to-day operations of the business and the maintenance of harmonious employee relations.
The Production Supervisor should have 5 or more years experience in the Carton Industry, specifically printing, cutting and forming of both solid fiber board and corrugated stock.  Knowledge of sheet fed printers, Bobst die-cutters, and Folder Gluers is strongly desired.  Knowledge of current cutting and printing equipment considered a plus.   Knowledge of /or experience with developing and implementing quality control programs preferred.
Previous supervisory experience strongly preferred.   Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to get along with others critical to success.  Experience with labor unions and administering a collective bargaining agreement is preferred.  Familiarity with personal computers and basic computer literacy a plus.
