Production Supervisor - 2nd shift

Point of contact for all production related issues. Based on Cell Leader, Production Manager or Production Facilitator direction, determines the effective use of assigned personnel and optimal operation of equipment residing in the cell. Minimizes scrap by reviewing first piece production and performing spot checks during production runs to ensure that all required processes are completed and production parts meet both internal quality and external customer requirements. Responsible for directing Cell personnel, discipline, maintaining machine operation throughout work shift and overseeing machine set-up when needed. Will work directly with the Production Manager or Production Facilitator to maximize efficiency in all areas. Will actively propose and lead continuous improvement activity in areas of responsibility.
Coordinates schedule priorities within each business unit to ensure completion of expected production activity.
Provides leadership and guidance to personnel to ensure good quality parts are being produced in a timely and efficient manner.
Direct employee assignments to meet the production schedule requirements.
Communicates status with Production Manager or Production Facilitator and Cell Leaders to accommodate a smooth transition between shifts.
Oversees machine operation, set-up and program editing.
Drives continuous improvement activity and develops corrective actions that reduce waste and support key company objectives.
Utilizes Data to identify and drive improvement activity
Responsible for maintaining machine operation throughout work shift and trouble-shooting problems to keep machinery running.
Responsible for overseeing completion of all documentation, such as inspection reports and shop travelers.
Enforces work rules and shift schedules.
Ensures that policies, breaks and procedures are followed and safety precautions are taken to reduce risk of injury.
Complies with ISO policies and procedures.
Foster a positive shift environment by engaging with employees
Help to build morale across shift.
Ability to work overtime on as needed basis or change shifts temporarily on a as needed basis.
Assist in the training of new employees
High School Graduate or equivalent.
Minimum of 3 years supervisory skills required
Ability to read and understand blueprints, operate measuring equipment/hand tools
Team oriented, good independent judgment skills, interpersonal and communication skills required. .
