The Production Lead is responsible for supporting the people management of his/her team in our very fast paced environment.  This is a hands-on leadership position that will require the incumbent to work side by side with his/her team to ensure objectives are achieved.
 
Position Scope:
 
  • Train new and existing members of the production team in proper work techniques, safety procedures, etc. 
  • Provide feedback on individual and department productivity to Plant Management.
  • Report problems or concerns with quality, processes, equipment and/or employees in a timely manner.
  • Identify and support continuous improvement efforts with Plant Management.
  • Actively work as a member of the production team and performing production job activities as needed.
  • Serve as a key resource to oversee productivity levels during overtime periods.
  • Assign work throughout the department based on daily/weekly schedule and production goals. 
  • Check on status of completion to make necessary adjustments.
 
Professional Experience:

 
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a manufacturing/production environment in a role beyond entry level.
  • Screen-printing or graphics experience a plus (Production Lead will be assigned to the garment warehouse area and can be involved in producing emblems). 
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with internal customers, various levels of management and employees.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, time sensitive, team environment.
  • Ability to re-prioritize as needed and think on-the-fly.
  • Ability to work extended hours as need to respond to fluctuations in customer demand (this can include early mornings, late evenings and some weekends).

  • Standing and walking for extended periods of time in a non-climate controlled production environment (often up to 8 to 12 hours/day)

  • Stooping, bending and reaching for items in production environment (assistance may be provided)
  • Regular lifting up to 75 pounds
 
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent
