Operations Manager is responsible for the effectiveness, efficiency and integrity of the manufacturing operations of the company. The person will be a hands-on leader providing direction, coaching, and management to the team and be responsible for program management, operations management, production management and cost management. Operations Manager is measured on both financial and ono-financial indicators directly related to on-time delivery, profitability, quality and employee engagement. The ideal candidate is a collaborator who is detail-oriented, with at least 7 years of proven manufacturing, operations, and management experience in a aerospace and/or automotive manufacturing, experience with P&L management, holds a Masters in Engineering or MBA from an accredited institution.
Establish operations standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety and on-time delivery
Establish manufacturing policies in the areas, materials usage, engineering and capacity planning, production scheduling, safety, customer satisfaction, employee relations and performance measures
Direct implementation and execution of manufacturing policies and practices throughout the organization
Recommend and implement changes in manufacturing and operations
Build, develop and manage operations leadership team capable of carrying out needed operations strategies and improving employee relations
Provide leadership for problem resolution to facilitate faster improvements and improved working relationships
Formulate and recommend manufacturing policies and programs that guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability of the operation
Manage the continuous improvement initiatives.
Foster and develop a trained and motivated staff and maintain positive employee relations.
Responsible for overseeing the production of job orders, monitoring the production process of job orders and adjusting the production schedule as necessary.
Manage daily production meetings to direct production activities and establish priorities.
Monitor product standards and recommend process improvements / control programs.
Allocate personnel, material and equipment resources needed to meet production schedules.
Oversee new capabilities to ensure effectiveness of equipment, tooling and processes.
Plan and direct the installation, testing, operation and maintenance of facilities and equipment.
Prefer that the Bachelor’s Degree is in Engineering or Business, from an accredited institution
Master’s Degree in Engineering or MBA, from an accredited institution.
Prefer 7+ years of management experience in manufacturing operations
Prefer 7+ years of experience in aerospace and/or automotive manufacturing
Experience with P&L management responsibility.
High level leadership and decision-making
Able to motivate, influence, and train people.
Experience with the manufacturing of precision metal components.
Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
