A well established company in Mentor Ohio is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer.  This person is responsible for establishing lean processes to produce products while ensuring
quality, cost and efficiency requirements are met.  The Manufacturing Engineer also researches and recommends the purchase of equipment or upgrades to existing equipment.

 Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate, implement, and monitor manufacturing processes and operating systems throughout the flow of production life cycle.
  • Maximize production efficiency of individual jobs.  Reduce variation and waste in production processes through standardization of work.
  • Collaborate with cross company engineering teams to facilitate new product launches, first time runs, optimize equipment, tooling and programs, and identify and resolve interface issues.  Review engineering design changes and recommend modifications to minimize cost and ease of performance.
  • Investigate, establish, and implement requirements for equipment, tooling, materials and manufacturing methodology.
  • Leads Continuous Improvement and Kaizen activities for various processes.
  • Implement lean manufacturing methodologies to reduce setup time, improve part flow and reduce waste while maintaining quality standards.
  • Drive the continuous improvement and standardization of setup procedures by optimizing and documenting work center layout drawings. 
  • Identify and drive implementation of safety, ergonomic, and cost reduction improvements at the part number level.
  • Troubleshoot quality issues related to process parameters, programs, or operator setup.
  • Ability to drive the continuous improvement of all setup programs & work cell setups.
  • Develop and document set up procedures and work instructions for various manufacturing processes.
  • Fulfills other responsibilities as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:   
  • Bachelor degree in engineering or relevant technical field
  • 3 to 10 years of applicable experience in manufacturing environment.  Cutting, fabrication, and welding process knowledge preferred.
  • Direct experience leading LEAN, KAIZEN, and Continuous Improvement activities
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly motivated self-starter with proactive approach to attacking opportunities
