Will work for a global manufacturer of injection molded plastic and adhesive based engineered systems with responsibility for organizing, and controlling the product line from conceptual stages through product life cycles to optimize profit and meet marketing, financial, and corporate growth objectives.

Responsible for:
  • Marketing and Business Planning
    • Coordinates and develops marketing plans for product line
    • Develops market share assessment and price/performance positioning as needed for existing and new products
    • Responsible for plans to assure top-line (revenue) and growth of assigned areas
    • Forecasts sales and unit volume for assigned products, markets or areas
    • Financial Knowledge and Skills
    • Works with Finance and Accounting to identify key cost and revenue drivers for product area
    • Monitors key performance measures
    • Interprets all financial components of the job –Margins, Budget process, ROI calculations and Business cases
  • Selling knowledge and Skills
    • Participates in key sales situations for the product
    • Responsible for developing sales acceleration plans
    • Works with channel partners to communicate benefits and markets for assigned products
    • Trains internal sales force and channel partners as required or assigned
  • Market research Skills
    • Designs, implements and interprets research
    • Identifies, studies and utilizes market research to recommend business direction
  • Competitive intelligence
    • Monitors competitive activity by establishing network with sales force and industry analysts and shares it with central Marketing intelligence team
  • Technical understanding
    • Knowledge of technical requirements of the product
    • Ability to translate technical writing into “user-friendly” customer documentation
  • Product Portfolio Analysis and Road map
    • Develops and maintains a prioritized list of product requirement needs
    • Portfolio management including product rationalization, product line profitability o  Develops global product line roadmap for product across multiple generations o Manages product life-cycle from concept to grave
    • Tracks product releases
  • New Product Development
    • ?Focal point to ensure all members of product development teams are moving coherently & in right direction
    • Provides financial and technical justification for product development projects
    • Working within business unit, guides/leads new product development through the phase review development process
    • Develops customer focused requirements in a language suitable for engineers and designers (VOC to CTQ)
  • Project Management
    • Develops reasonable schedules and handles multiple complex projects at an appropriate level of detail
    • Maintains focus and accountability and defines critical paths & timelines
  • Deliver results through people (Communication, Interacting with sales force, engineering and R&D)
    • Collaborates with a wide variety of functional areas such as sales, engineering, marketing, manufacturing, and operations to develop and provide product definitions/specifications responsive to customer needs and market opportunities.
    • Works with Marketing Communications and Sales to develop tactical launch plans and customer benefit insight.
    • Liaison between sales and technical development team
Education & Experience Requirements are:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university; MBA preferred
  • Minimum of 4 years related global sales management or business development; product line management experience strongly preferred
  • Strong financial acumen required
  • Market and application sizing experience required
  • Experience on new product development teams required
  • Knowledge in product assembly using adhesives in construction, automotive, or industrial markets strongly preferred
  • Injection-molding experience/knowledge preferred
  • Experience with Project Management preferred
Estimated Travel Required:
