A $900MM+ dollar International Manufacturer is seeking a
for their Advanced Materials R&D and Manufacturing plant, located in Bay City, Michigan (160 employees & $40MM+ in sales). It is a critically important operation, which directly addresses their customers’ unique and ever changing product needs. It is a high mix / low volume contract manufacturer that produces customized material form products primarily utilized in high temperature applications and semiconductor manufacturing.

15 to 25 years of job shop manufacturing experience is required – high mix / low volume production.
>Strong preference for manufacturing experience involving machining, heat treatment, and thin film coatings for customers in the semiconductor manufacturing industry.
>Other high temperature manufacturing industrial experience like metals, glass, carbon graphite, and ceramics will be seriously considered.
A BS degree in an Engineering field is required. (Best fit: Material Science)
Must have strong experience leading all aspects of a manufacturer including business operations (sales, marketing, business development, customer service, etc...). Must have a proven management background.
Must be a champion of Continuous Improvement, ideally utilizing Operational Excellence or Lean Manufacturing.
Does not need to be a Lean Expert / Six Sigma Black Belt, etc….
They are NOT seeking a Change Agent.
Must have significant P&L experience.
Must be able to wear multiple hats within the organization. Understand the needs of divergent groups. Must have a good grasp of the big picture regarding overall business objectives.
Must be a team player, who has experience working within a MATRIXED hierarchical management structure. Team Concept philosophies are critical.
Must be able to get a DOD Security Clearance and/or be able to gain access to sensitive materials via ITAR rules.
Experience working for a Multi-National / International corporation is a big plus. Foreign language skills are also a plus (especially French, Chinese, Korean, and/or Japanese).
Willing to travel (10%) - Either has or can easily get a Passport for International travel.
