Division Quality Manager

Seeking a driven Quality professional to lead all quality related initiatives for a large division of a Fortune 250 manufacturing company. The Division Quality Manager provides leadership and management for the quality function, sustaining the quality philosophy and lean culture for the division.
As management’s representative for quality, this person manages department resources and coordinates the implementation of the quality management system between business units and locations to cost-effectively facilitate quality and compliance. This role offers top-level exposure to division, group, and corporate management as well as interaction with all functional areas, customers, field sales, regulatory agencies, and suppliers.
Review and communicate customer, regulatory and organizational requirements to assure product quality, contract compliance and customer satisfaction
Oversee the effective documentation and implementation of the quality management system to ensure compliance with requirements and policies
Coordinate necessary personnel for internal, customer and third-party quality system inspections/audits
Investigate non-conforming conditions and provide recommended corrective action
Ownership of warranty process including claim review, corrective action, cost estimation and field repair coordination
Implement the performance measurements necessary to effectively evaluate organizational performance and trends in product quality, services, customer satisfaction and the cost of poor quality
Collaborate with Supply Chain on the development and implementation of a supplier management strategy, assessment of supplier capabilities and monitor supplier quality to ensure desired levels of performance
Collaborate on new product development and design review for quality/reliability issues
Work with division leadership to ensure that individuals performing functions affecting quality are trained and demonstrate the appropriate skills and performance results
Ensure welder training and certification for ASME code requirements
Promote safe and clean working conditions and foster engagement and participation in safety, productivity, cost reduction, and quality improvement programs
Manage and supervise a complex team including recruitment, training, development, coaching and evaluation of direct and indirect team members.
4-year degree in Engineering, Business Management, or related field required, Advanced degree and/or ASQ certifications preferred.
10+ years’ experience in a complex manufacturing environment, with at least 5 years in Quality Management
5+ years’ experience in a leadership position, with at least 3 years leading a large organization
Industry experience in oil and gas and or industrial products experience a plus
Demonstrated, in-depth understanding of International Standard Quality Management Systems
Working knowledge of weld engineering, welder qualification, American Society of Mechanical Engineering (ASME), American National Standards Institute (ANSI), and pressure vessel industry codes and standards
Experience with quality improvement tools and techniques (i.e., Lean, Six Sigma, Statistical Process Control, and Failure Mode & Effects Analysis)
Ability and experience reading and interpreting Engineering specifications and blueprints
Demonstrated leadership, project management, facilitation and presentation skills. Strong analytic and excellent problem-solving skills.
Record of successfully coaching, mentoring and developing team members
Advanced Microsoft Office skills and experience using complex ERP systems
Ability to travel as needed
