The Controller has direct responsibility for cash management, accounting functions, statutory reporting, external audits, and consolidations for the company’s corporate and commercial entities. The Controller must be a strong and proactive leader in the areas of: process improvements, timely and accurate financial reporting, and managing staff.


  • Oversee all activities of the accounting department including the month-end close process, financial reporting, payroll and cash management.
  • Partner with business leads and FP&A to understand and explain financial variances vs. plan and forecast.
  • Set priorities and goals for the department, hire and mentor the accounting team.
  • Ensure revenue is appropriately recognized and documented.
  • Establish and maintain corporate accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure conformance with US GAAP and other laws/regulations.
  • Manage external auditors to ensure that all documentation required for annual audits and initiate quarterly reviews.
  • Serve as the key technical accounting resource.
  • Experience with manufacturing cost accounting and standard cost developing.
  • Provide management with financial reports and make recommendations to CFO and executive staff on needed financial actions.
  • Ensure monthly review and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and lead preparation of monthly consolidation, and review and approval of general ledger journal entries.
  • Identify and execute improvements to existing processes and procedures. Challenge the organization to success.
  • Ensure complete and accurate tax compliance and tax accounting in conjunction with 3rd party provider.
  • Ensure accounting systems and processes are continually streamlined via process improvement to achieve greater efficiencies and accuracy in the level, and timeliness of reporting.
  • Ensure that operational and design effectiveness of internal controls are maintained.
  • Build relationships cross-functionally to foster collaboration both inside and outside of Finance & Accounting team.
  • Work with FP&A to prepare board materials.
  • support the CFO on key financial decisions.
  • Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as required by the CFO
  • High-energy leader experienced in leading a Corporate Accounting team in a fast-paced, high-growth Company.
  • CPA or equivalent (inactive will be considered)
  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Previous staff management experience
  • Strong communication skills (written and oral, English)
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • 10 to 15 years of growing responsibility experience in accounting / finance
  • Strong people leader with the ability to build team to produce quality results in an efficient manner within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects
  • Excellent Excel/spreadsheet skills, competency with MSWord and PowerPoint
  • Significant experience with enterprise planning systems, including design and on-going efficiency enhancements.
  • A self-directed leader able to adapt quickly to changes in priorities. .
