This is a 100 year old company that is setting sales records!  They have a lot of new initiatives around continuous process improvement and are very profitable!   This highly visible role is an addition to staff due to recent growth!    The position reports to the VP of Global Operations. 

The goal of the position is to to identify and implement continuous improvement activities to reduce cost, improve quality/productivity and standardize work processes

Key Responsibilities: 
  • Planning, facilitation and implementation of kaizen activities
  • Training of + tools to all associates
  • Coordination and accountability of CI leaders/Process engineers and their actions
  • CI Leaders and Process Engineers report indirectly (dotted line) to the Director of CI/+
  • CI Leaders and Process Engineers are responsible for the daily implementation of + tools through their work with the hourly associates to guide and facilitate activities and provide any necessary supplies or resources
  • Daily interaction involves follow-up on open kaizen newspapers, upcoming events, meeting with managers to discuss the results or regular audits of their areas and tours
  • Interact with all  facilities to compare best practices
  • Work with outside contractors such as fabricators and toolmakers to support kaizen efforts
  • Facilitate kaizens corporate wide
 
 
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelors degree required, Engineering or POM preferred
  • Minimum of 4 years operations experience
  • Minimum of 2-4 years’ experience with lean manufacturing and Toyota Product Systems
  • Well versed knowledge of lean manufacturing, Toyota Production Systems and synchronous manufacturing.
  • Training on all critical Lean tools such as 5S, Standard Work, SMED, DMP, Strategy Deployment and Visual Management
  • Participation in a minimum of 20 kaizen activities and leader/facilitator of at least 10 kaizen teams
