Our client, a leading medical device manufacturer, is located in a beautiful lake community West of Fort Wayne, IN and Southeast of South Bend IN, and you can live in any of these locations. Our clients sales were up in 2009, and their business remains strong. As Senior Cost Accountant, reporting to the Manager of Cost Accounting, you will play a key role in the Cost Accounting department. You will be responsible for performing various accounting duties including taking a lead role for standard cost process, assisting ion the month end close process, and reconciling accounts.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities include:

* Conducting fixed asset audits
* Standard cost development
* Monitoring recovery of material associated with manufacturing operations
* Assisting with work order corrections and variance analysis
* Researching and analyzing management questions and resolving issues
* Preparing reports on monthly manufacturing activity for distribution to management
* Managing various inventory locations within the organization
* Preparing monthly journal entries
* Performing monthly account reconciliations

Your background must include:

* Bachelors Degree in Accounting
* Minimum of 3 years of experience in a cost accounting role
* Experience conducting fixed asset audits
* Variance analysis experience
* Solid experience utilizing Excel and Access
