Our client is looking for a degreed design engineer professional with a passion for inventive design within the furniture industry. The Design Engineer directs, coordinates, and exercises functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering projects. The position provides design direction from inception through production both in new product design and in existing product redesign. The position develops and implements optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. The Design Engineer recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods and controls, as well as coordinates manufacturing launch for new or revised products. This position provides support to Engineering, Sales, manufacturing, external customers, and suppliers.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: - B.S. degree in Industrial Design, Design Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years experience designing upholstered furniture.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks 3-D CAD system.
- Willingness to pursue additional training as required.
