ALMACO, located in Nevada, Iowa, is a leading manufacturer of agricultural research equipment.  We design and produce various models of plot planters and combines for the research industry.  We also develop the field analysis and control electronics; this includes software for research use.  Our primary clients are the major seed and chemical companies along with the university and government section.  We are an international business and ship products all over the world.

We produce Agricultural products focused in the research area.  A wide range of planting equipment for plot research along with the control systems for these are manufactured. A full range of harvest equipment from small single plant threshers to fully automated combines that resemble mobile laboratories are also produced.  Electronics and software to control these units is also developed by ALMACO.  We train clients and support our products worldwide.

We are focused on the Ag research area and don't have any other divisions. We have received multiple patents for the products we have developed.


ALMACO started as a blacksmith shop back in the 1880's and is the oldest surviving business in Story County Iowa.

ALMACO has received numerous community involvement awards.  We actively support our city and school system.
